A personalised Christmas card delivered a cheery response for a small marketing solutions company

Latcham Direct delivers tailored marketing and customer communication solutions to the private and public sector.

They wanted to send their clients a Christmas card to thank them for their business and ensure their loyalty in the upcoming year.   In addition they wanted to make clients aware of their charitable donations at Christmas and enable them to participate in choosing the beneficiaries.

The Case Study

A humble Christmas card would serve as a nice thank you but wouldn’t give clients a reason to use Latcham Direct in 2015. So the communications took the opportunity showcase their skills in tailored cross media communications solutions.

Clients were mailed a personalised Christmas card with an image of a snowman holding a sign engraved with the client’s name.  Inside the card was a PURL that directed them to a personalised, Christmas-themed landing page.  There each client was given the option to choose from one of three local charities.  Latcham Direct would then donate £10 to the chosen charity on their behalf.

As an additional thank-you, each client was offered their choice of a gift for themselves - a personalised box of chocolates, a personalised handmade icing snowman or a personalised calendar.  A unique URN – found inside the greetings card – enabled Latcham Direct to track the charity the client had donated to and lock the database record to ensure the client didn’t order multiple gifts.  


The tailored Christmas card produced some merry results.  A whopping 59% of clients went online to choose their charity and gift…and in doing so experienced first-hand Latcham Direct’s cross-media solutions.  

Latcham’s sales team hand delivered the personalised gifts, giving them the opportunity to discuss the campaign and any potential new business with happy customers.

A number of potential projects were received as a result of this engaging and innovative Christmas Campaign.
